EMS- First kerala chief minister (CPI)

Communist party of India (CPI)  and a few independent supported by it secured 65 of the 126 seats(125 +one Anglo Indian).

⚫EMS opposition 1st kerala legislative assembly election - T.V. koran(PSP) & Unnikrishnan Namboothiri (Congress)

⚫EMS ministry was dismissed on 31st July 1959

Second Kearala legislative assembly

Shri Pattam A Thanu Pillai of the P.S.P. took over on February, 22 as the coalition Chief Minister leading a council of eleven ministers. Shri. R. Sankar of the Congress was designated as Deputy Chief Minister.   Courtesy: www.kerala.gov.in

The second Kerala assembly was formed on 9th February 1960 by a coalition ministry under congress and PSP;

Second CM of Kerala - Pattamthanupilla (1960-1962)

The second assembly was dissolved on 9th September 1964.Pattamthanupillai was appointed as Governor of Panjab.

R. Sankar (Congress) was the third CM of kerala (1962-1964). First congress CM.

Abortive Elections of 1965

Elections were next held on 4^th March 1965. The system of single and double member constituencies had been given up in 1962. A fresh delimitation of the constituencies increased their number to 133.

The 1965 elections became abortive. Once again on March 25  was invoked for the fourth time.

Third Kearala legislative assembly

EMS naboothiri ministry came in to power on 6thMarch 1967. The third assembly was dissolved on 25th June 1970.

Forth Kearala legislative assembly

C.Achuthamenon who was sworn in as chief minister in 1970 served in that position till 25th of March 1977.
